How to Play

The game of craps is played with a pair of dice. In a nutshell, the game is about predicting what the roll of the dice will or will not produce. To begin the game, a person rolls out the pair of dice. This person is known as the shooter. The game of craps has several rounds. The first roll made by the shooter is called the come out roll. If the player first rolls outs a 7 or 11 it’s winning numbers and the game continues. If the shooter rolls out 2, 3 or 12, it’s called craps. The round ends and the next round begins. If the shooter rolls out 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 it’s considered a point and the shooter must continue rolling the dice until he can repeat the point. He must not roll out a 7 in between. If the player does roll the 7 before the point can be repeated, you lose and the round ends.

To understand the game of craps you first need to understand the bets in craps. These will give you a better idea of how the game works

Pass Line Bet:

If you place a pass line bet, you win if the shooter rolls out a 7 or 11. The bet is lost if the shooter rolls out 2, 3, 12 and its called craps. As mentioned above, if the shooter rolls out a point number (which are 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10) the shooter must continue rolling the dice until he can repeat the point. If the point is repeated the pass line bet wins. If a seven is rolled out in between, you lose the bet.

Come Bet:

This bet is made after the point on the pass line bet is established. You can place your bet and wait for the point to be established. If the first roll is a 7 or 11 you win, this bet also wins if your point is repeated.

Don’t Pass Line Bet:

This bet is just the opposite of the pass line bet. If a the shooter rolls out a 7 or 11 you lose, but if he rolls out craps numbers 2 or 3 you win.

Don’t Come Bet:

This is the come bet in reverse. Once the come point is established if the shooter rolls out a 2 or a 3 you win and you lose if a 7 or 11 is rolled out.

There are also single-roll bets, and multi-roll bets. As you can see, there a lot of ways to win in Craps!
