The Great Pyramids Of Giza

The great pyramid consists of three chambers with the lowest one cut into a bedrock on which the pyramid is built. The queen’s and king’s chambers are located higher within the structure of the pyramid. The pyramid of Giza is the only pyramid that contains passages that are both ascending and descending.

Stonehenge

Stonehenge is a monument which is situated in Wiltshire, England. This is a very famous site and according to archeologists it was built somewhere between 3000BC and 2000BC. They also think that this site might have been used as a burial ground in ancient times. However, the exact purpose and nature of Stonehenge still remain unknown.

The Great Wall Of China

The Great Wall is made out of tamped earth, brick, stone, wood, and some other materials along the east to west path across the northern borders of China. The wall is thought to have been built as a source of protection against intrusions. Most of the wall that exists today is from the Ming Dynasty.

Leaning Tower Of Pisa

The Leaning tower of Pisa is a bell tower of a cathedral in Pisa, Italy that is greatly known for the way it leans. The best part about the tilt is that it was unintended. The tower began to tilt soon after its construction began due to the soft ground it was built on which was unable support the tower completely. Even though it kept tilting, the structure was still completed.

The Colosseum

The Colosseum is situated in the center of Rome, Italy, and was built from stone and concrete. It is considered to be one of the greatest works of all time and is the largest amphitheatre within the Roman Empire and the world. It had a seating capacity for around 50,000 to 80,000 people and was used for public spectacles and gladiator contests.

The Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal is a mausoleum made from white marble and is located in Agra, India. The monument was constructed by Shah Jahan, a Mughal Emperor, in the memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. It is highly admired the world over.
