El Cortez Hotel & Casino has opened its first-ever high-limit room as part of its $25 million remodel. The room has two high-limit blackjack tables and three high-limit slot machines, including Aristocrat’s Dragon Cash and two Ainsworth Super Charged 7s, with the maximum limit in the high-limit room being $2,000.

El Cortez shut down in March 2020 and stayed closed for nearly three months because of Covid restrictions. Management used that downtime to redesign its interior and implement new distancing and cleaning protocols, and many of those efforts are still in place.
